Map the process before automating

Write down the trigger, data required, expected action, owner and end condition. Check that the underlying process works manually and that the source data is reliable. Do not automate a confusing workflow just because a tool offers a template.

Build safety into the flow

Check consent and suppression rules before sending messages. Decide how retries, duplicate triggers, missing data and integration outages should be handled. Provide a way to pause the workflow and make changes reviewable. Test with internal records before enabling real contacts.

Measure and maintain

Record delivery, failures and useful outcomes without collecting unnecessary information. Assign an owner to review connected apps, permissions and platform changes. Automation should reduce repetitive work while keeping human review available for exceptions and customer requests.
